Picnic For One
In a field of flowers, solitude gives way to unexpected companionship

She ventured into the field of flowers, found a pleasant spot and spread out the multi-colored blocked picnic blanket.
There was no hesitation as she got down on her knees, opened the picnic basket, retrieved a glass, then the thermos, and poured herself an ice-cold, colorful cocktail.
Taking a sip, she sighed deeply, lay back and looked up at the fluffy clouds. Sometimes the universe made you do things by yourself.
A rustling in the grass alerted her to a presence.
“You didn’t think I would let you drink alone, did you, lady?” said her best friend, gently smiling.
